Some Inspiring Words

I.am.tired.

You know the kind of tired you get when you've been up for days (or so it seems) and you are just numb? Yeah, I'm there. With 3 kids who have been waking up at night, all night long, and never at the sime time, another little one thrown in the mix when I watch her overnight,  the worries of financial instability (hubby is on temp work, guaranteed through Christmas), a never-ending to do list (saw 2 mice in the garage yesterday, must get rid of asap!), it all takes it's toll.

I can handle being tired. I function very well with a foggy brain. I manage to feed the kids, do some laundry, feed the kids again, do some dishes, do some more laundry...

Even though I seem to function fairly well on my totally exhausted days, I could do better. I could be more joyful. I could laugh with the kids more. Play with them more. Read to them more. But the truth is, I am so tired, that I really don't want to do anything. I do what I have to do. They need to eat, they need to have clean clothes to wear, we need to have clean dishes to eat off of...beyond that, I have no motivation.

I've been looking for motivation, by way of prayer, reading my bible, and some blogs by some amazing women. In case you happen to be looking for some inspiration, here you go:

Sally Clarkson on Priorities
Red and Honey on real life living ( I love this, because she is so real, and we've all been there.)
Sarah Mae on Comparison (or non-comparison) living.

And lastly, I'll leave you with this, as it really hit home for me...
1st Corinthians 13 for Moms (this is going in my Homemaking Binder!)

I hope you enjoy these great reads!

  1. I've actually been up almsot constantly for the last 3 days! I had three children throwing up constantly last night; now 6 of my children are sick. I'm pretty tired, too!

    1. I hope your children are feeling better! I can't imagine having to clean up throw up several times after already being so worn out. Thank you for your encouragement link that you left. It's something I'm going to need to read often!
