What I've really been working on...

I shared with you my overwhelming list of new activities that caused me to shut down. I did leave out one tiny detail. I have been practically bed ridden (not quite, since with the 3 little ones and a daily school pick up I can't actually lie in bed all day) for the past couple of months.

Other than the two tacos I had for lunch today, I can't remember the last real meal I ate (besides a bowl of cereal, if that counts).

You see, we learned just after Thanksgiving that...we're expecting baby #3!!!! We are of course a little worried about the finances, but ecstatic about the new arrival. With my first 2 babies, I didn't experience morning sickness. I was a little nauseous with my daughter, but that only lasted 2 weeks or so.

The week before we found out I was expecting, we went on a trip to the city and I got car sick! That has never, ever happened. I thought it was weird, but didn't think much of it. The next week, I found out. And as they say, it was all downhill from there...

I am now into my second trimester, and am feeling much better than I have been feeling these last couple of months. I am not 100% yet, and crackers are still my food of choice, but I'm getting there.

Any tips for handling a 3rd pregnancy with a preschooler (3) and a toddler (1 1/2) in tow?

  1. I know how you are feeling. I've got three kids a four year old, a thee year old, a one year old, and a baby due in 3 months. I was pretty sick at the beginning, of this pregnancy and pretty much till the end of the second trimester. I still have an occasional morning sickness. (It's a boy) I'm always sick with boys. I wasn't with our daughter. I find that you just have to let things slide by sometimes. Sometimes, a meal that isn't always from scratch. Sleep if you can when they do, or when they are napping take the time to do something you really want to do or needs done. Sometimes, my husband has cooked dinner (he is a great cook!) As long as the kids are dressed and fed, everything is fine. p.s. Enjoy your time with just two, we found it a litle hard getting used to having three kids to carry around. I'm really interested to see how four goes!

  2. Congratulations! I am due with my 3rd in a few weeks. My son is 3 and my daughter 19 months. I made it through the pregnancy by cutting myself some slack, trying to take a quick nap on the couch on those days that I really needed it, and scheduling in the things I really wanted to have done, like organizing baby clothes and sewing a new baby blanket. Figure out what is the hardest part of the day (here it is 4pm) and do what you can to prepare so that it doesn't have to be so difficult. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I am nervous to have 3 so close in age but I am also really looking forward to it!
