Motivation during hard times

I have been having an extremely hard time keeping myself motivated lately.

Being a homemaker and parent (whether you work outside the home or not) is hard work. Add outside stress, family problems, work problems, or health issues to that, and it feels like it's just not possible to manage a home at all!

I found out almost a week ago that my uncle, the youngest son out of 18 children, had passed away. This was completely unexpected. He was 40 years young. Since then, I have not been able to sleep, or focus on anything around the house. Dinnertime has come as a surprise to me every night since then. I have been feeding my family of course, but I have not been organized about it. My little girl is the lucky one, since I'm still nursing; her food is always ready!

Bad things happen to good people; people get laid off, get sick, make poor decisions, and we just have to figure out how to move on. That is not as simple as it sounds, but that's just what I have to figure out how to do. My family is counting on me.

What kinds of life events have made you lose your motivation?
